Why this stretch
You don’t need a rental car every day
Madeira Beach is a narrow barrier island: Gulf of Mexico on one side, Boca Ciega Bay on the other. The Yacht Club sits on the bay, so you wake up to boats and walk three minutes to sand. John’s Pass Village — the boardwalk, the charters, the grouper sandwiches — is a short hop south. Everything else on this coast is a day trip, not a relocation.

One unhurried week from 320H
Most guests mix two beach days, one bay day, one village night, and a single bigger outing. Leave room to do nothing.
SunBeach
Morning swim while the sand is quiet. Midday at the heated pools. Evening on the Yacht Club docks — pelicans, boats, maybe a dolphin.
MonVillage
John’s Pass for a charter, boardwalk shops, and a waterfront grouper sandwich. Back to the condo before the Saturday-night crowds exist.
TueBay
Coffee on the pier. Light spinning rod if you packed one. Kayak or paddle nearby. Slow pool afternoon. Sunset on the sand again.
WedOuting
Pick one: Pier 60 in Clearwater, downtown St. Pete museums, Pass-a-Grille, or Fort De Soto. Come home to a gated, quiet club.
ThuStay
The day most people remember. No agenda. Beach in the morning, docks at dusk, leftover shrimp in the kitchen.

Repeat the best meal. Last long shoreline walk toward the Pass. Pack slowly. The washer is in the condo.

You park once at the Yacht Club. Beach days are a walk. Bay days never leave the gates. John’s Pass is the one outing worth the six-minute drive (parking there is easier than you think if you go before dinner rush).

Before you plan
The questions guests actually ask
Do we need a car?
For a beach-and-pool week, no — you can walk to sand and stay on the grounds. For John’s Pass with bags, Clearwater, or St. Pete, yes. Most Saturday arrivals drive from TPA (about 30–40 minutes).
Is John’s Pass walkable from the Yacht Club?
It’s a long, hot walk along Gulf Boulevard (about 1.5–2 miles). Nice as a beach-line stroll one way if you want the exercise; drive or rideshare back with shopping bags.
What about red tide or storms?
Red tide is uncommon but seasonal. Afternoon thunderstorms are normal in summer and usually pass. We’ll flag a week that looks off when you request dates.
Can we do Disney or Busch Gardens from here?
Technically yes — Orlando is a long day (2+ hours each way) and Tampa’s Busch Gardens is about 50 minutes. This condo is built for a Gulf week, not a park base. Stay coastal when you can. When you do want the coasters, see the Theme parks guide for map, drive times, shuttles, and ticket links.
